CTMH June SOTM Blog Hop

Welcome to our first monthly Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! On the 15th of each month we will be showcasing the current SOTM set with various projects created by talented Close to my Heart consultants. If you are visiting from Amber's blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the beginning with our hostess Pam!

Life is tweet is the set for June! So many options with this set! You can do birthday’s, anniversary, or just general thinking of you projects! The possibilities are endless! I think I might even use this set for my upcoming anniversary by simply not inking the "y" in "It's your anniversary" to make it say "it's our anniversary". :)

I'll be totally honest.. this is NOT what I originally made for this hop. I made something early yesterday morning and had to charge the camera battery before I could take a picture. I went to take the picture to get this post set up and cannot for the life of me find my original card.. SO.... here's a 2nd card that I literally "threw" together in under 10 minutes so I could get it photographed, uploaded and posted for you. I figure if nothing else it shows how great this set is to just grab and throw something together for. :)

Anyways.....
I needed a card for my mail person as we just had our mailbox moved so now it's at the end of the street right next to us (our mail here gets sent to boxes and not delivered to the door). Every time I ever got a package before I would get a delivery card notification in the mailbox and would then have to wait until the following day after supper to go pick up the parcel at the post office down the road a few kilometers. With our mailboxes being so close to our house now though our fantastic mail person has decided that since she knows someone is home here most of the time that she can just walk over with any parcels when she drops the mail off at the mailboxes saving me the trip to the post office. Today she walked over with a rather heavy box. :) I really felt that this deserved a little extra thank you from me for this extra effort she is now putting into delivering our mail considering I get a fair number of parcels with all of my CTMH orders coming that way and I have yet to actually be here when she brings one over and my husbands grandfather has been the one accepting them so far.  I will put a little Tim Hortons gift card inside as well.

The inside will read
"...you've been going out of  your way
     to deliver our mail lately.
            how tweet of you"

All the stamping on this card is done with this months Stamp Of The Month!

The background was made by sponging some sky and taffy ink.

Head on over to Eva's blog now to see what great project she has for you!

Distress happy!

WAY out of my comfort zone!! :)

So I was playing with May's SOTM (which I still have a few left for those local to me that wanted one) and I had a few stamped out on different shape cutouts from the Art Philosophy cartridge. I coloured one with my new set of CTMH watercolour pencils and decided to make it into a card.

I actually distressed!!!! (I NEVER do this normally so this was way out of my comfort zone).
I was very happy with the card when it looked like this:

... but  of course I couldn't leave well enough alone and decided to add some more ink around the image because I was "distress happy" and now it looks like this:

which I am not nearly as fond of. I do still like it though. :)

The sentiment is actually the "zip strip" off of one of the Pemberley papers.

I'd love to know what you all think. :)

GYPSY SCREEN WINNER!!

I'm here with a quick post to announce the winner of the gypsy screens. I will say that the first number drawn had not left a comment over on Karin's blog as well so was disqualified. :(

Now without further ado.... the winner is........

This is such a wonderful idea! Awesome! I am kind of new at the Cricut and Gypsy so this would be so helpful to me. What an awesome idea to put all these photos into a file that anyone can upload into their Gypsy. Thank you for the chance to win the download.
Kathy:)

Kathy, I just know you will love these!!
Congrats again Kathy!!
